FKM stands for Fluoroelastomer, a class of synthetic rubber defined by ASTM International standard D1418. The 'F' denotes fluorine content, 'K' refers to the rubber classification, and 'M' indicates a saturated polymer backbone. FKM is best known commercially as Viton and is valued for its outstanding heat resistance, chemical inertness, and durability in demanding industrial environments.

Artesian Systems' VITON/FKM tri clamp screen gaskets are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°F to +250°F (-40°C to +121°C). This wide range makes them suitable for both cold and heated process lines found in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, dairy, and chemical processing applications.

Yes. All VITON/FKM gaskets from Artesian Systems comply with FDA 21CFR177.2600 and FDA 21CFR177.1550, are approved by the USDA, and meet 3-A Sanitary Standards. They have also passed U.S.P. Class VI Cytotoxicity testing, confirming biocompatibility for pharmaceutical and medical-grade fluid handling applications.

Artesian Systems offers VITON/FKM tri clamp screen gaskets in three filtration ratings: 5 micron, 20 micron, and 100 micron. Each uses a 316L stainless steel screen integrated into the FKM gasket body, allowing inline filtration and sealing in a single sanitary tri clamp component across sizes from 1.5" to 6".

FKM/VITON gaskets offer broad chemical compatibility including petroleum derivatives, alcohols, ethers, glycols, fats, oils, greases, and mildly acidic salt solutions. This makes them ideal for chemical processing, food and beverage, dairy, hemp extraction, and pharmaceutical applications. They are not recommended for use with ketones, certain amines, or hot anhydrous hydrofluoric acid.

All VITON/FKM tri clamp screen gaskets are available in five standard sizes: 1.5", 2", 3", 4", and 6".
